Before the
floodgates of hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans devastating this
wonderful city, I had a chance to indulge myself in the celebration
of its diverse culture. Disaster and devastation is not new to this
city. On two other occasions it was razed to the ground by fire
but bounced back in characteristic style, associated with this part
of the world. My journey to this Mississippi Delta city was twofold
– one was to walk in the footsteps of jazz legend, Louis Armstrong,
and the other to understand more about its cultural confluences.
